The Opening of MotorCheck Vehicle Inspection center in Sharjah

Sheikh Mohammed bin Saud Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Finance Department and Chairman of the Board of Sharjah Asset Management, inaugurated the MotorCheck Vehicle Inspection Center at Souq Al Haraj in Sharjah. The center is a joint venture between Sharjah Asset Management—the investment arm of the Sharjah Government—and the American company OWS Auto.

Rafid for Automotive Solutions, a subsidiary of Sharjah Asset Management, will operate the facility. The goal is to raise vehicle safety standards, improve inspection procedures, and reinforce the market’s role as Sharjah’s main hub for car trading. This market is the largest of its kind in the UAE.

Opening Ceremony

Several high-ranking officials attended the event. These included Saif Al Zari, Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police; Waleed Al Sayegh, CEO of Sharjah Asset Management; Owais Zahran, General Manager of Rafid Automotive Solutions; and Ahmed Jumaa Al Musharrakh, Director of Souq Al Haraj.

The ceremony also welcomed many traders, investors, and media representatives.

Fostering Investment and Economic Growth

Waleed Al Sayegh said that Sharjah Asset Management aims to create an attractive investment environment. This supports the competitiveness of Sharjah’s economy.

The initiative reflects the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah. His strategy focuses on building a diversified economy that attracts investors and supports continuous development.

Meeting Market Needs with Quality Services

In a press statement after the event, Al Sayegh said the center serves both car dealers and private vehicle owners. It offers high-quality services at competitive prices.

He emphasized that the facility adds value to Souq Al Haraj and features the latest vehicle inspection technologies. These enhancements aim to improve safety and raise consumer confidence.

Optional Service with Certified Reporting

The MotorCheck Vehicle Inspection service is optional for customers at Souq Al Haraj. They can request a certificate confirming their vehicle is free of defects or malfunctions before selling.

Al Sayegh shared that 90% of the car showrooms in the first phase of the project have already been leased.

Phase Two: Expansion in Progress

Sharjah Asset Management is now preparing the second phase of the project. This phase will focus on retail services and establishing a major vehicle inspection and maintenance center.

He expects the new phase to be completed within two years.
